I bought this as an impulse buy at a large department store. Out of all the bikes, it was the only one with nice wide sweeping handlebars AND has gears with big wheels. I did not know what to look for in a bicycle, or else I probably would not have this one. I had to have the derailler adjusted, the brakes adjusted, and the wheels straightened out after the first 5 miles. Once these issues were taken care of, it rode fine...for awhile. The rear wheel was constantly out of "true", and eventually the spokes pulled through. So I had to buy a back rim after 1000 miles or so on smooth black-top. The front wheel had "flat spots" that could not be fixed, so a new front wheel to match the new rear wheel came soon after. Mongoose tires are thinner than the tubes inside, so tire replacement will be an immediate requirement.
