Kent Mini 8 Folding Bike Reviews
32 of 33 people found the following review helpful Fun novelty bike but impractical, September 27, 2010 By Nephtis (Portland, OR) - See all my reviews This review is from: Kent Mini 8 Folding Bike (Sports) This is a very fun little novelty bike that is well made and sturdy but it is geared so low that it is completely impractical for actual use as a commuter bike. The rider must peddal constantly just to maintain brisk walking speed. However, it is a blast to ride around the house or the neighborhood and you'll definitely get some looks, especially if you lower the handlebars and seat all the way. It is a fun novelty but not for someone looking for an actual commuter bike.
15 of 15 people found the following review helpful Fun to ride, exceed my expectation, June 3, 2011 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Kent Mini 8 Folding Bike (Sports) It rides like a regular bike, it might not look like one:). The saddle might need to be replaced for more comfortable seating. I was told these bikes would be harder to balance because of its small wheels, but it's perfectly fine. I feel pretty safe on it. For the price it is amazing. I bought this so I can bring it to different places and ride around for fun. It's not the fastest bike but it is faster than you think. I dont think it's the easiest to fold or lightest to carry around so if you are looking to ride
it to the bus station or subway and take it with you everyday, I say forget it unless you don't mind the hassle or carrying 26lbs all day. There's a bike out there called 'A-bike' that might be good for this purpose with half of its weight. However I think it's sold for a lot more. This is a great deal! Make sure you put air in the tires before rocking on it. You don't have to be a circus clown to ride it. It's pretty smooth and a lot of fun!
37 of 47 people found the following review helpful I have to be a circus clown to ride this bike, January 8, 2011 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Kent Mini 8 Folding Bike (Sports) I am super baffled by the previous two great reviews. I was really excited to get this bike because that means I can ride this bike to the bus station and take this bike on to the bus. But that excitement did not last very long. Once I put the bike together, I just assumed it would ride great for me because I am only 5' tall, and 100 lb. I mean, this tiny bike is built for some small sized person like me. But no, you would have to peddle really quick and balance like a circus clown on a unit cycle to be able to ride the bike, but the bike doesn't go fast enough to create a good balance, so immediately I fell and cut my finger. I sat down and contemplated about whether it is possible for me to keep the bike and not trouble myself with the return process, no, it's not possible. I can't even go 10 feet without stopping and putting my foot on the ground for balancing. As much as I dislike packing it, I will do that to send it back. What a waste of my time!!
